Confederation College’s Early Childhood Education program is designed to give students a broad education in the theory of Early Childhood Education, child development, early childhood curriculum and pedagogy. You’ll get the skills and knowledge you need to plan educational programs and play environments to nurture each child’s development and learning, making a real difference in their lives. Courses cover a wide range of ECE topics including play and inquiry-based learning; effective interpersonal communication; child development; working with families; guidance; and health, safety and wellness.<br><br>Graduates of the Early Childhood Education program work in a variety of settings including infant, toddler and preschool (including child care and nursery school) programs; before-and after-school programs, kindergarten programs and primary grade classrooms; special education and intervention programs; Ontario Early ON Centres; Head Start programs, family supports; home child care programs; parentchildcaregiver drop-in programs and health care settings.
