Become an elementary school educator in the K-12 school system that supports the academic, developmental, and social-emotional needs of students in B.C. schools. The Teacher Education Program is guided by its signature pedagogy of “People, Place, and Land” and focuses on place-based, experiential in situ (on-site) learning.This program is a 16-month post-baccalaureate professional degree program. Apply your undergraduate degree with a teachable major or minor (i.e. English, Math, Chemistry, History, etc.) to teach kindergarten up to Grade 7 students in B.C. schools. This program is offered at the Prince George campus, as well as the Terrace and Quesnel campuses.Learn about the First Peoples Principles of Learning, Indigenous Education, inclusive practices, assessment and evaluation, Applied Design and Skills and Technology, and curriculum and instruction in different disciplinary areas or subject specialty.Gain practical experience in the K-12 classroom throughout the 16-month program with four practicum experiences:Observational in Term 1Experiential in Term 2 (three weeks)Formative in the Spring Term (four weeks)Summative in the Fall (12 weeks)
