Understand the economic, social, political, and cultural developments that shape education practice in the United States and around the world. In this 36-credit hour program, you'll be introduced to core concepts in comparative education, obtain a social scientific perspective on education policy, sharpen your knowledge of particular education issues or domains, and develop the ability to conduct basic research and/or problem-solving in various educational contexts. Many of the courses in this specialization provide students with the opportunity to inquire into the relationship of education to the economic, social, political, and cultural developments that shape national and regional systems of schooling. The higher education track provides coursework relevant to higher education in the international context.
