The secondary education concentration is designed for students who plan to teach earth science in secondary eduation in Alaska. Requirements for certified teachers has been built in to this concentration in consultation with the School of Education. Students choosing this concentration should consult with both the Department of Geology & Geophysics and the School of Education for advising. Earth science is the study of our planet's physical characteristics, from earthquakes and raindrops to floods and fossils. Earth science includes all fields of natural science related to the planet Earth. Gain experience in one of the most exciting natural laboratories on Earth as you earn your earth science degree from UAF. Our program offers three concentration options to earn your bachelor's in earth science. The variety of courses increases your undergraduate research opportunities and prepares you for a diverse careers or admission to top graduate programs.
