The BA in History with a concentration in Education is designed to teach students to investigate questions about the past rigorously and critically, identify strong sources, critically assess information, analyze disparate threads of evidence, and identify and explain trends and patterns. In addition to history classes, students complete education courses, where they learn best practices for sharing their historical skills and knowledge with students.Students majoring in education may select history as their second area of study or may elect to pursue a dual degree. The department’s majors who complete Class A&B certificates in education meet all the requirements of Alabama teacher certification.
