Our School of Education is one of the most comprehensive teacher preparation programs in New York City. The school represents a network of scholars who not only teach inside the classroom but who urge you to take advantage of our innovative partnerships throughout the metropolitan area and with national organizations. By the time you graduate, you will be well prepared to thrive in your chosen field—whether as a teacher, administrator, or school psychologist. This program leads to the M.S. in Education and both New York State Initial and Professional Certificates in Middle Childhood Education with a specialization in teaching mathematics (grades 5-9). This option leads to New York State Professional Certification in Middle Childhood Education with a specialization in teaching mathematics (grades 5-9) or to Professional Certification for holders of Initial Certification in another area.
