Our elementary education program provides you with a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. The Multiple Subject Teaching Credential authorizes you to provide instruction in self-contained classrooms in elementary schools (grades K-6) and instructional services to provide English language skills and academic content to English learners in California. In your student teaching placements, you will be on local school campuses from the first day of school until the last. Our elementary education program has two placements throughout the year, and the Teacher Education Program secures placements for you through our strong partnerships with local schools. You will be mentored and supported by a university supervisor and a cooperating teacher, many of whom are graduates of our program. Our program is unique in having the option to be placed in an English-Spanish dual-language immersion school setting. These placements are based on your interest and linguistic fluency.
