The secondary education program is designed to prepare teacher candidates to be licensed to teach middle and high school. Secondary education majors can select a concentration leading to 7-12th grade licensure in English, mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, or social studies.The Biology Education Curriculum is designed in accordance with the recommendations of the National Science Teachers Association and the National Science Education Standards for prospective teachers at the secondary level (grades 7-12). Courses designed for non-science majors will not count toward a degree in any area of science education.
