The Master of Education program in Secondary Education with a concentration in Curriculum, Assessment and Instruction is designed for teachers who, while continuing a career in classroom teaching, seek to assume responsibility and leadership roles in enhancing standards in the areas of curriculum, assessment and instruction. The degree requires a minimum of 33 credit hours and is offered either completely online or through a combination of online and on-campus courses. The CA&I program in Secondary Education is designed for practicing teachers and/or those with existing teaching licenses, who want to assume more responsibility and larger leadership roles while continuing a career in the classroom. These programs are designed to help teachers enhance the learning and development of students while addressing state and federal standards in the areas of curriculum, assessment and instruction. We offer master's degrees (MEd and MS), which can be completed either on campus or through graduate outreach. We also offer a Educational Specialist (EdS) degree, which provides a cohesive program of professional development beyond the master's level for educational specialists. The MEd degree requires a minimum of 33 credits and is offered both on campus and through UMaine Online.
