The Department of Curriculum and Instruction offers approved teacher education programs that lead to a Bachelor of Science degree and licensure in the state of Tennessee. An undergraduate major is offered in Elementary Education, and we offer the courses required for licensure in fields of secondary education and K-12 teacher education at the undergraduate level. Due to licensure requirements, specific general education core courses are mandated for all students who wish to complete the Elementary Education program.
