Our bachelor's degree in elementary education prepares you to teach in all subject areas to children in first- through sixth-grades. Youll learn about child development, curriculum and instruction, classroom management, educational technology, special education, assessment, educational philosophy and psychology and more. Our how-to classes equip you to provide instruction in specific subject areas including reading and writing, mathematics, language arts, social studies and science. And youre almost assured of acing the edTPA: 100 percent of Elementary Education undergraduates in Fall 2016 passed the mandatory assessment required to obtain teacher licensure in Illinois and several other states.
