Our Middle Level Teaching and Learning degree gives you with the content knowledge and educational approaches necessary to serve the needs of young adolescent learners from fifth- through eighth-grades in specific disciplines. Youll prepare for teaching in one major content area endorsement, either English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science or Social Sciences. And youre almost assured of acing the edTPA: 100% of Middle Level Teaching and Learning undergraduates in spring 2019 passed the mandatory assessment required to obtain teacher licensure in Illinois and several other states. It takes specialized skills to teach middle school students. This program provides students with in-depth content knowledge and instructional method preparation in two endorsement areas to teach in grades 5-8. Endorsements include English, mathematics, science, social science, bilingual/ESL, foreign language and physical education.
