The Master of Arts in educational leadership degree in the Department of Educational Leadership, Research and Technology at Western Michigan University is based on a performance-driven leadership model in which students actively participate in a variety of activities designed to prepare them for the challenges faced by today's educational organizations. Most of the programs in Educational Leadership benefit working professionals who want to develop as leaders ready to handle the many educational challenges facing institutions and organizations in an era of accountability. Students will be better prepared for current and future challenges and be more competitive in the job market.<br><br>This concentration, which may be completed completely online, is designed to prepare a student for the leadership role of being a building principal, as well as an athletic director. Students who complete this concentration will be recommended to receive, from the state of Michigan, the School Administrator Certificate. Program graduates may be endorsed to receive the administration certification outside of Michigan as well (depending on the certification process in state of residence).
