Rivier University's Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) is designed for working professionals. Most classes meet one Saturday per month or weekday evenings. In the cohort model, students take a prescribed sequence of courses together as a group to form a learning community, and benefit from collaborative learning from other professionals in a variety of fields. In addition to the core courses, students take 12 credits of elective courses related to their dissertation topic. Electives may be offered in face-to-face, online, or hybrid formats. Hybrid courses meet on Rivier's Nashua, NH campus periodically. Students and instructors communicate online through Canvas, our course management systems, in addition to face-to-face meetings. Online courses do not meet on campus. Technical support is available 24/7 for Canvas users.
