This 48-credit hour degree prepares you for a career as a school counselor in Pre-K through post secondary school settings. <br>School counselors engage in a number of activities aimed at promoting student development and well-being. Such activities include assessment and intervention as it relates to academic and career development as well as supporting social and emotional learning.<br>Through coursework and field experiences you'll develop the knowledge and skills to work with a diverse student body and learn how to communicate effectively with a variety of other educational and mental health professionals to foster the academic, personal, and career development of your students.<br>Explore preventative, developmental, and remedial intervention strategies<br>Gain experience in group and individual counseling<br>Develop a deep understanding of the issues needed to succeed in a diverse and multicultural school environment
