We assume that your knowledge is equivalent to a grade C or higher in Units 3 and 4 at high school level (typically studied in Year 12). Find out more about assumed knowledge.
It is also recommended that you have studied General Mathematics (Units 3 & 4, C), or equivalent.
This program requires a minimum of IELTS 6.0 or equivalent. TOEFL (paper based) - 550 (or better) (with a minimum Test of Written English Score of TWE 4.5). TOEFL (internet based) - 80 (or better) (with 19 minimum in all bands).
To apply for an undergraduate (or your first) university degree at USQ, you must have a recognised previous academic qualification. These qualifications are for standard entry and are based on comparisons with Australian year 12 level examinations.

The Bachelor of Information Technology degree at USQ is designed to give you the skills, knowledge and experience for a career in ICT. You will learn how to be a problem solver and innovator across a wide range of industries as an expert in information technology. Studying a Bachelor of IT you will: Have the opportunity to put your learning into practice through an industry-based learning experience or project, choose from a range of specialisations (majors) and start studying it in your first year of study, learn best-practice and valuable insights from experts in ICT, gain the skills and knowledge to help you seek industry certification. Our Applied Computer Science major is all about giving you the skills to solve computer-related problems. With rapid advances in technology and new applications being developed constantly, it is hard to say what those problems will be. One thing is for sure, though, it is going to be exciting finding out. You will explore computing, statistics, data mining, information systems, data management, sorting and presentation, as well as problem solving, project management, teamwork, communication and ethics.
