Whether your goal is to create games to entertain, to teach or to help society understand the world’s problems, our game design degree will give you a well-rounded base on which to build your future career. Emphasizing both technical and creative aspects of game design, our program will teach you how to transform your ideas into a compelling virtual reality as part of the next generation of video game creators. You’ll learn the basics of game design by studying, game production, concepts, art and sound, game theory and system strategies, progressive design and production, and to develop, produce and publicize a finished game that you’ve helped create as part of a team. Your game design courses will be a mix of hands-on production classes and seminars in theoretical foundations. The degree requires a portfolio review about midway through your program to determine whether you're ready to progress to more advanced coursework.
