The Graduate Certificate program in Data Mining is a one-year program designed to give students a comprehensive training in basic foundation, advanced knowledge and applications of Data Mining. It's suitable for students in diverse disciplines who want to extend their knowledge and skills. The program is provided through CMU's Department of Statistics, Actuarial and Data Sciences. The Graduate Certificate program includes courses from Mathematics, Computer Science and Geographic Information Sciences.<br><br>The department offers graduate teaching assistantships to graduate students. Teaching assistantships are determined by the graduate committee based on students' academic credential and previous teaching performance.<br><br>Students are also encouraged to make a poster presentation at the annual university student exhibition. Outstanding projects are recommended for poster competition organized by SAS Inc. Some of the student projects may also be recommended for conference presentations or for journal publications.
