The graphic design major covers design theory, design history, materials and processes, as well as graphic design studio/professional industry standards and practices. You will gain knowledge and skills in print-specific practices, Web design, motion graphics for film and television, interactive applications, and branding and identity. The School of Education and Human Services (SEHS) and the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) offer a fifth-year secondary teacher education program (STEP) leading to recommendation for Michigan secondary standard teacher certification. This certification is valid for teaching content area in grades K-12.
