课程简介
The scope of the studies in physics - from nuclei to stars - is represented in the curriculum of UD's Physics Department and in student research, as well as in the research of individual faculty members. Students who choose to major or concentrate in physics take courses that prepare them for graduate studies, teaching, medical school, and industry. The low student-to-faculty ratio means students are offered many opportunities to interact with professors in courses, laboratories, and research. In 2013 the department added a dual degree in electrical engineering program with the University of Texas at Arlington. The department also offers Astronomy, Physics & Technology and General Physics I and II as Core Curriculum courses. Students at the University of Dallas may find that traditional departmental boundaries are not adequate to describe the breadth of their interest, especially when post-baccalaureate plans are considered. Though they may choose a major in Mathematics or Philosophy or Biology, they may also have an interest in bolstering their education with further applications and models of Physics. In addition, a student who seeks secondary certification with a science composite would find the Applied Physics Concentration useful in fulfilling certification requirements. The concentration in Applied Physics seeks to provide students the opportunities to pursue new studies that relate to their major and life interests.
