Your personal statement should clear, but briefly, state why you are interested in joining the graduate program in Applied Physics offered by our department.

It should include information that you believe is relevant for your application but that is not in your undergraduate transcript - especially work and/or research experience in physics related fields. Physics-related being interpreted widely to include work done in almost any quantitative science or engineering field, including mathematics, finance, medical, biophysics, chemistry or, for instance, MRI-experience gained in
psychological research.
If you are applying to our PhD Program in Applied Physics, make sure that your interests are somewhat in line with research at our department. Also specify whether you are mainly interested in theoretical or experimental work.

The minimum paper-based TOEFL score is 550. The minimum computer-based TOEFL score is 213. The minimum IBT-internet based TOEFL is Writing 22, Speaking 23, Reading 21, Listening 17. An acceptable IELTS score is bandwidth 7.
