The normal prerequisite for all programs is a (UVic equivalent) Honours degree in Physics, Astronomy or related subjects. Students admitted to the MSc program, but with backgrounds judged to be less than that of a UVic Honours degree (e.g. a Major degree), are normally required to take additional undergraduate courses in Physics, Astronomy and Mathematics to satisfy the stated prerequisite.
In your application, please include transcripts from all the institutions you have attended, two assessment reports, your current CV, and Statement of Purpose. We require a minimum score of 90 from the internet-based TOEFL (IBT). You must also score at least 20 points each in the listening, speaking, reading and writing sections. We require a minimum score of 575 on the paper-based TOEFL. We require minimum overall band score of 6.5 on the IELTS. No individual component can have a score lower than 6.0. We will only accept results from the Academic IELTS.
