Physics is the study of matter and energy and the laws that govern their interactions. Advances in technology, such as transistors, lasers and microwaves, all resulted from basic physics research. Beyond practical applications, the study of physics will help you see and explore aspects of the world that are invisible to our ordinary senses. We offer emphases in professional physics, applied physics or physics secondary education (teacher licensure). Our students frequently conduct research, including work at federal laboratories.
