It is our goal to prepare teachers who will make a difference in the lives of their students, in their schools, and in their communities.The Department of Teacher Education has created a vision of the type of department we want to exist now and into the future. The vision statements reflect our shared thoughts and goals as we work together to prepare students for teaching in the next century.The Master of Arts in Teaching Physics or Physical Science Program, leading to initial teaching certification in Physics or Physical Science Grades 6-12, is a 37-38 credit hour program. The program is intended for students with a BA or BS in Physics, Physical Science, and/or Integrated Science or General Science, or an equivalent degree (e.g., Engineering) who wish to earn teacher certification with the State of Michigan.
