The Department of Physics offers both Master of Science and Doctorate of Philosophy degrees in physics. Physicists generally are recognized for their ability to experimentally investigate and theoretically model the real world in ways that further our understanding of it. These skills are highly valued by a variety of industries and graduate degrees in physics prepare students for a wide range of careers in those industries. Recent graduates of our department currently are employed in the electronics, medical, financial, and energy industries, as well as academia. Our research groups provide world-class training and experience designed to give students the skills that are highly valued by the various industries.
