A person who enjoys chemistry and likes to work with young people should consider a career as a chemistry teacher. To prepare, you would take most of the first chemistry, physics, and mathematics courses that a chemistry major would take, and then apply them to earn a either a Bachelor of Science in Education or a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Chemistry with Master's level licensure from the College of Education. In either case, a program of graduated preparation courses will prepare you for a career in the classroom. The Chemistry Department provides excellent facilities including research and teaching laboratories and a large array of supporting modern research instrumentation.
