Roadrunners seeking a Chemistry degree may choose from either the B.S. in Chemistry or a B.A. in Chemistry. The B.S. meets the minimum requirements for professional chemists through an official certification by the American Chemical Society. Both programs are designed to ensure career opportunities in environmental studies, government agencies, teaching industry, medical technology, pre-professional programs, or can pave the way for graduate study in chemistry or other related fields.<br>Internships allow you to obtain work experience, explore a chosen career path and increase your marketability to employers. UTSA's Career Center has a COS career counselor who provides internship opportunities and advice to students across every science major.<br>The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemistry provides opportunities for preparation for careers in industry, governmental agencies, environmental studies, preprofessional programs, and medical technology, and for graduate study in chemistry or other related fields.
