The Bachelor of Science in Chemistry is intended for students who plan a career in chemistry. The B.S. is accredited by the American Chemical Society. Students who satisfactorily complete this program are recommended by the department for certification as graduate chemists by the American Chemical Society. The B.S. prepares students to enter the job market or for graduate study leading to an advanced degree, such as a Master of Science or Doctor of Philosophy.<br>The Department of Chemistry offers a Bachelor of Science degree fully accredited by the American Chemical Society, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree for those pursuing careers in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and other professions. Since Chemistry is the central science, we also provide undergraduate training in the fundamentals for those majoring in other science related fields and teacher training.<br>Undergraduate degrees and program certificates in Forensic Science are not currently offered.
