The Chemistry master's program provides students an opportunity to obtain advanced knowledge and skills in all areas of chemistry. In addition, the MA degree provides preparation and training in teaching college-level chemistry courses. Students prepare for teaching careers at community colleges and universities. The chemistry and biochemistry department awards teaching assistantships along with full tuition support to graduate students who will teach laboratory classes 4-6 hours per week. In addition to teaching laboratory classes, graduate students have the opportunity of teaching internships with faculty in technology-based lecture classrooms and in active-learning classrooms utilizing team project based instruction.
