UFV Accuplacer Reading comprehension score of 80 or better, together with Accuplacer WritePlacer score of 6 or better on the 8-point scale.
UFV CPT (Composition Placement Test) - score of 41 or higher.
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) - IBT score of 88 with no section below 20, or paper-based score of 570 with a TWE (essay) score of 4.5 or higher.
IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Academic format - score of at least 6.5., with no band score less than 6.0.
MELAB (Michigan English Language Assessment Battery) - score of at least 85.
CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language) - score of at least 70.

At UFV, we can put you on the road towards a career as a heavy duty, commercial transport, or agriculture technician by teaching you how to service and repair equipment such as trucks, crawler units, and farm tractors. The Heavy Duty/ Commercial Transport program will prepare you for entry into the provincial apprenticeship program, or for entry directly into employment. Youll get a thorough introduction to the trade, and develop skills expected by today's demanding employers. Theory and shop procedures are set up to simulate job conditions, so punctuality and good work habits are essential. After successfully completing the 34 week program, you will be prepared for employment in the heavy equipment industry. Potential employers include the agriculture industry, mining, oil fields, bus and transportation shops, logging companies, trucking, and heavy equipment and truck shops.
