Advances in technology continue to make it easier for us to work, live and communicate with each other every day, and electronic devices have played a major role in how technology affects our lives. <br><br>Humber’s Electronics Engineering Technician diploma program emphasizes electronic products, control systems and telecommunications, combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience. You’ll learn from industry-connected faculty about coding, interfacing, networks, wireless, programmable logic controllers (PLC), industrial electronics and troubleshooting techniques including how to embed circuits into smart devices, industrial equipment and consumer products. You’ll also build and test circuit boards, learn electronics fabrication, program PLCs and design embedded systems in our state-of-the-art labs and prototyping facility using advanced software and Augmented Reality (AR) systems.<br><br>According to Electro-Federation Canada, companies that design, install, manufacture, distribute and service electrical, electronic and telecommunications products contribute more than 50 billion to the Canadian economy while employing more than 130,000 workers at 1,400 facilities in Canada. Our graduates have found employment with major users of large electronics systems such as broadcasting networks (including CBC, CTV); telecommunication carriers (including Rogers, Telus, Bell); manufacturers of electronics equipment (including Creation Technologies, Celestica, GE Canada); and manufacturers of scientific, medical and industrial instrumentation. Other graduates have started their own businesses or progressed to positions such as company representatives, technical salespeople and managers.
