This certificate prepares students for entry-level auto mechanic positions at local dealerships and independent repair facilities. The program focuses on diagnosis and repair of internal engine components for domestic and import vehicles. Students take apart engines and transmissions and put them back together from the ground up. This certificate prepares students for the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) examinations for engine repair and automatic and manual transmissions. Upon completion of this program, students will be proficient in the theory and practice of heavy line/drive-train service and repair.
