课程简介
Though portable IR sensors exist in the market, there is no system currently in place to use these sensors to perform active thermography inspection. This PhD project aims to develop a IoT based thermography inspection system including system integration and software development. As a highly efficient and powerful Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) technique, Active Thermography (AT) is contact free and offers a rapid inspection while covering a large area within a short time. Therefore, it has been successfully applied to a wide range of areas such as civil engineering, medicine and biology as well as agriculture, aerospace, automotive and the manufacturing industries. The student will be based at Through-life Engineering Services (TES) Centre at Cranfield. The TES Centre focuses on developing knowledge, technology and process demonstrators to provide the capability for the concept design of high value engineering systems based on design and manufacturing for through-life engineering services. The student will also work with the core industrial partners of TES Centre to develop a user case to apply this technique to digitalize industrial components.
