Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) / Bachelor of Laws (Honours) Conjoint - Civil Engineering
课程简介
A BE(Hons)LLB(Hons) conjoint allows you to complete a BE(Hons) and the LLB(Hons) in less time, and with fewer points, than it would take to complete the two degrees separately. This degree equips you with the specialist knowledge to solve problems and critically engage with policies in our increasingly complex technical environments. The study of both Law and Engineering requires distinct capabilities that match the high demands of their professions – theoretical knowledge, analytical and research abilities, social appreciation, public responsibility, and communication skills. These are qualities essential to solve complex problems, and are applicable to broader areas such as management, intellectual property and more. The BE(Hons)LLB(Hons) complements technical acumen with critical research skills, equipping you to take on roles that emerge in many technologically-driven sectors. All our Engineering specialisations are accredited by Engineering New Zealand, making this programme a recognised qualification in many countries.A specialisation in Civil Engineering offers you a combined emphasis on buildings, infrastructure and development, and environmental management. Our courses are designed to offer you a well-rounded education that prioritises tangible applications for technical knowledge in mathematics and science. In this specialisation, you will learn a range of skills, like how to design structures for loads they will experience doing their lifetime, and understand key infrastructure problems so you can design them to support modern cities. There’s also a substantial focus on environmental concerns, such as how to balance environmental issues during a construction project and the proper planning of stormwater and waste management facilities. We are also actively working to weave mātauranga Māori into our course content, projects, and student research to enrich our curriculum, and to solidify the relevance of our discipline within New Zealand and beyond.
