Medical engineering applies engineering principles and design concepts to medicine and biology for healthcare purposes. The field seeks to close the gap between engineering and medicine through multidisciplinary working – and engineering knowledge is also used to understand the body better, so that new and innovative tools can be developed for the medical community. From biomaterials to joint replacement technology, this course will equip you with the knowledge and skills to advance healthcare treatments including monitoring, diagnosis, therapy and rehabilitation. <br><br>We have an international reputation for our expertise in medical engineering, and we are part of the Leeds Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering which acts as a focus for training and research in hospitals and at the University.
