NCEA Level 3 (including three subjects at Level 3 - including Physics with a minimum of 14 credits and Calculus with a minimum of 14 credits plus one other subject with a minimum of 14 credits from the list of NZQA approved subject).
10 credits NCEA Level 2 literacy - 5 credits in reading and 5 credits in writing.
10 credits NCEA Level 1 numeracy or above. Or equivalent qualification.
20 years and over - If you?re 20 years or over, you may qualify for special admission on this programme. Contact us if you don't meet the Under 20 entry criteria.
Minimum IELTS (academic) score of 6 with writing and speaking score no less than 6 and reading and listening no less than 5.5, or equivalent.

Mechanical engineers are involved in the design, manufacturing and maintenance of mechanical systems and products that have moving parts. This is often in areas such as energy systems, manufacturing machinery and transport. Almost all products have a need for a mechanical engineer so it's an area that's always in high demand. During this course, students will develop their fundamental skills in the areas maths, science and engineering design.
