Our staff are nationally and internationally renowned in a variety of areas of Telecommunications. We provide opportunities for Telecommunications research with a particular emphasis on mobile and personal communication techniques and networks. The Centre for Telecommunication research was initially concerned with architectures and protocols for wireless ATM networks, but quickly evolved towards work on protocols, mechanisms, architectures, and applications for IP-based broadband radio access networks. The mission of the Centre for Telecommunications Research (CTR) is to be a global leader in telecommunications and data and information processing. It is at the forefront of research and innovation in 5G, wired and converged networks, the next-generation fully-immersive Internet of Skills, artificial intelligence applied to and taking data from networks, signal processing and data science, advanced RF and audio technologies, as well as economical and policy implications of these technologies.
