The BE(Hons)/BMus allows you to combine your diverse interests. Supported by leading researchers, artists and facilities, you will develop a balance of practical skills and theoretical knowledge in both Engineering and Music, gaining qualities sought-after by employers everywhere. A technological grounding will be essential as digital environments become more prominent. This programme will equip you to take advantage of the emerging opportunities in the evolving creative industries. Your specialisation/major can influence what you pursue. The music industry runs on more than performers and composers, and with quantitative, problem-solving and technical skills, you'll easily adapt to modern working environments. Our Engineering specialisations are accredited by Engineering New Zealand, a signatory to the Washington Accord, making our BE(Hons) a recognised qualification in many countries.<br><br>The phenomenal pace of change in this field makes it impossible to provide a lasting professional education based on technology alone, a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Computer Systems Engineering is therefore geared to provide core skills and theoretical knowledge needed for a future-proofed approach, including: Fundamental knowledge in computer systems Practical skills in hardware and software design Problem-solving methodologies for designing and building systems Project work, and verbal and written communication Exposure to existing and new electronic, hardware and software technologies
