Direct Admission into the 1 Year MPE (Computer Systems) Program*:
Graduates from the University of Newcastle with a Bachelor Honours Degree (AQF 8) in Computer Systems Engineering (first program offering 2017) will automatically be awarded 80 units of credit.
Graduates from the University of Newcastle with a Bachelor Honours Degree (AQF 8) in Computer Systems Engineering (pre-2017 program) will be awarded a fixed credit (to be determined).
Graduates from another institution with a Bachelor Honours Degree (AQF8) in Computer Systems Engineering with Class 2 Division 2 or above OR a Newcastle calculated GPA of 4.5 or above.
Direct Admission into the 2 Year MPE (Computer Systems) Program*:
Graduates from the University of Newcastle or another institution with a Bachelor Degree (AQF 7) in Computer Systems Engineering AND a Newcastle calculated GPA of 4.5 or above
Direct Admission into the MPE Program:
Applicants currently undertaking or having completed the Master of Engineering Management program at the University of Newcastle may be admitted to the Master of Professional Engineering in the same discipline area as their undergraduate engineering degree. The volume of learning required for the MPE will be assessed for individual applicants based on their background.
IELTS - 6.5 (Minimum 6.0 in Each Component), TOEFL iBT - 79 and TOEFL PBT - 550

The Master of Professional Engineering (Computer Systems) is a flexible degree that will allow you to fast-track your career in computer systems engineering. You can also diversify your engineering expertise with courses in mechatronics or software engineering, or broaden your skills base in a complimentary area such as business and management skills, entrepreneurship and innovation, design or environmental management.
