It takes confidence and experience to recognize and control workplace safety. Illinois State is home to one of only 20 accredited safety programs in the nation. It's also the only one offered in Illinois. We'll give you all the confidence and skills you need to be an effective leader in occupational safety and health. Occupational safety and Health at Illinois State gives you plenty of hands-on experience. Many of the courses in occupational safety and health include a lab. You also get opportunities to take part in simulated drills and incident scenarios. You can apply what you learn outside of the classroom. Our internship experience lets you choose from more than 130 employers. These include governmental agencies, consulting, manufacturing, agriculture, insurance, and construction. You'll work directly with professionals in the field, protecting people from harm in the workplace. All the hands-on experience offered with our program mirrors what you'll be doing as a professional.
