Advances in technology have resulted in vast amounts of data becoming available to researchers and healthcare administrators. Organizing, analyzing, and utilizing this information for translational research that bridges discovery and clinical care is one of the biggest challenges facing the current generation of data scientists. You will study the whole spectrum of this burgeoning field, with specific emphasis on clinical informatics, genomics, and population health. In small, in-person classes, youll learn from renowned faculty and experts whose backgrounds in health, research, and technology allow you to develop the in-depth skill-set necessary for success in biomedical informatics. The Biomedical Informatics program has key industry partners through the Industry Advisory Board, which facilitates a local and national network of industry-based opportunities for students as well as the Faculty Advisory Committee which consists of members from across the University of Chicago with expertise in clinical and research informatics, genomics, translational medicine, and computation.
