The Advanced Technical Certificate is designed for the student who wishes to transition into the Nanotechnology field from a traditional science education background. To be admitted to the Advanced Technical Certificate, the student must hold an Associate or Baccalaureate degree with a concentration in a Physical or Natural Science discipline of either Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Engineering. The program will give graduates the knowledge, skills and abilities to operate a variety of nanofabrication equipment, understand scientific principles and the behavior of matter at the atomic level in chemical, as well as biological and molecular systems. This course of study prepares students for a career in the field of Nanotechnology and material science. Graduate students are employed as entry-level manufacturing operators, test technicians and materials technicians. Graduate students can also continue their education towards a bachelor degree.
