High school diploma (or expected completion within 45 days of the program start date), or equivalent. International applicants must meet the general entrance requirements based on country/curriculum of study. Applicants must also meet the program-specific requirements, including:
- Senior level Math with a grade of 50 per cent or higher, or equivalent.
- Senior level First Language Literature with a grade of 50 per cent or higher, or equivalent.
*All high school grades will be converted to an equivalent Manitoba grade scale.
English language requirement:
- IELTS (Academic) (International English Language Testing System): 6.0 overall, no band less than 5.5
- PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English Academic): 54
- TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language Internet Based): Overall score of 78, with no less than 17 in each component
- CAEL CE & CAEL Online (Canadian Academic English Assessment): 60
- Cambridge English Advanced Certificate (C1): Scale Score of 180 / Grade of C

The CAD Technician program blends hands-on and practical work to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to translate ideas, sketches, and specifications into accurate working drawings (2D, 3D, and VR) using manual and computer-assisted drafting techniques. Graduates bring this strong foundation of learning to the workforce, which includes credits in architectural, mechanical and civil drafting, as well as employability and essential skills acquired through MITT’s Work Skills Series workshops.<br><br>CAD Technicians are most commonly employed by engineering and architectural firms, construction companies, consulting firms, and manufacturers.<br><br>CAD Technicians may also be employed by:<br><br>Public Utilities<br>Furniture or Textile Design Companies<br>Municipal, Provincial and Federal Government Departments<br>Building Fabricators and Other Manufacturing and Assembly Companies<br>Land Survey or Geomatic Companies<br>Companies in the Petrochemical, Food Processing, Pulp & Paper and Energy Industries<br>Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing or other Building Services<br>Electronics Manufacturing Companies
