The Master of Science in Engineering Management is specifically designed to help students with an engineering background develop business and management skills to increase their career potential. As a graduate of the program, you'll be qualified for positions that require both technical and administrative skills. You may find an opportunity as a manager of engineering, projects, operations, production or systems. You may also land a role as a system analyst or process improvement consultant, among other related positions. The graduate plan in Engineering Management (EMGT) leads to the Master of Science degree. The Engineering Management plan offers the candidate the opportunity to earn an advanced degree in two years while maintaining full-time employment. The broad EMGT curriculum is designed to prepare students with technical backgrounds to become industry leaders. To achieve this objective, the curriculum is carefully designed by integrating courses from the College of Science and Engineering and the College of Business. The program focuses on multiple disciplines such as Business Management/Administration, Project Management, Systems Engineering, and Industrial Engineering among others.<br>The Engineering Management (EMGT) curriculum is composed of 33 hours of graduate course work of which 15 hours will be core requirements and 18 hours will be electives with capstone or a thesis option. The EMGT master's program offers two different options-traditional EMGT MS and fully online EMGT Master of Science. Students in the traditional option complete the program either in person or partially online while students in the fully online option complete all courses online.
