The freshman Indiana State University application is for entering freshmen who are (or soon will be) high school graduates and have not attended another college after graduating from high school. High school students may apply to Indiana State University any time after completion of their junior year in high school.

English Language Requirements:

  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): A minimum iBT score of 61; a minimum CBT score of 173; or a minimum paper-based score of 500
  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS): minimum score of 6.0 (or higher)
  • ELS Language Training Program: successful completion of level 112 (or higher)

The call for STEM professionals in the workforce is growing, and passionate, inspiring teachers are needed to educate this next generation of innovative engineers and technologists. You can share your love of technology and the practical sciences, and make a difference in students’ lives, as a technology and engineering teacher in middle or high school. Indiana State’s Technology and Engineering Education (TEE) program will prepare you to become a successful teacher and mentor. As a graduate, you will be prepared to obtain licensure to teach in middle school, junior high, and high school in the areas of pre-engineering, communications, construction, manufacturing, biotechnology, and transportationpower and energy. <br><br>Our program blends classroom learning with practical experience and extracurricular activities. Coursework is derived extensively from technology and the impact that technology makes on society and the environment. Course content begins with the basics of technology and engineering, so you are not required to have in-depth knowledge of these areas prior to enrolling in the major.
