Construction Managers use engineering and business principles to oversee the entire construction process. This includes estimatingbudgeting, contract law, construction methods and materials, scheduling, safety, and effective communication. Industry emphasis areas include industrial, highway, commercial, residential, and general construction. Graduates are easily employed in this booming industry and can either work their way up within a construction company or start their own construction management business.The construction management curriculum is designed to have a corefundamental knowledge base common to most applications of construction management. While being in compliance to accreditation standards as prescribed by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE), this knowledge base can be expanded upon through a set of specialization courses. Designed by industry and faculty, these specialization areas provide specific skill sets in the various construction types.
