Welcome to the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering (CAE) at Tennessee State University.The Department has a long tradition dating back to 1954, and is widely acknowledged as the premier Civil and Architectural Engineering program in the South East. Our programs have very strong links to the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry. We have a reputation as a friendly, open academic environment where students and faculty can pursue their diverse interests. The CAE Department is committed to quality teaching, research and service. The department takes great pride in preparation of students to excel in their professional careers. Our graduates apply scientific and engineering principles to the plan, design, construction and maintenance of buildings and infrastructure systems, and are equipped to work in a variety of roles in design, construction, government, education and other industry sectors.
