To be considered for admission, you must have completed or are in the process of completing secondary school with a cumulative or overall grade point average (GPA) that is comparable to a US grade of B (3.00 on a 4.00 scale) or higher. The Admissions Committee will also be looking at the grades/marks you have received for Mathematics and Science courses.
All official transcripts, examination certifications (e.g., General Certificate of Education) and other documents showing all high school and any completed post-secondary work must be submitted to the Office of Admissions. All official transcripts must be mailed directly by the institution or Ministry of Education to the Office of Admissions. Documents mailed or hand carried by you or anyone else will not be accepted as official or used for admission consideration.
Secondary school transcripts must include a list of courses taken and grades/internal marks received each year, class rank for the last four years of secondary school, and an explanation of the school's grading system. If transcripts with annual internal marks are unavailable directly from the school, you may photocopy your mark sheets or grade reports and have them certified by a school official who verifies that a transcript is otherwise not available.

The College of Engineering now offers a new Bachelor of Science in Engineering Science (BSES) with an initial concentration Biomedical Engineering. This new degree, currently housed within the college's Mechanical Engineering department, is intended to increase the options for our students, providing an interdisciplinary education and a mechanism to cover emerging areas. Degrees will be a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Science with a concentration in Biomedical Engineering. Given that it is brand new, the program in Engineering Science is not yet accredited by ABETthe organization that accredits engineering programs. However, students can be assured that the Engineering Science program will have the same high standards and processes that have led to accreditation of our other programs.<br>Program Educational Objectives<br>Program educational objectives are broad statements that describe what graduates are expected to attain within a few years after graduation. The expected attainments of our graduates are:<br><br>Graduates will be accomplished productive professionals and leaders in industry, national laboratories, academia, service, and society, contributing to the technological and economic development of Hawaii, the U.S., and beyond.<br>Graduates will implement emerging and innovative technologies, apply professional standards, and continue their professional development and learning through individual effort in the workforce, professional education, and technical conferences.<br>Graduates will exhibit professional conduct and be leaders who are adaptable, accept and practice their professional and ethical responsibilities, respect diversity of opinion and culture, and have an understanding and appreciation for sustainability issues.
