Students in the biomedical engineering Ph.D. program will advance scientific discoveries alongside leading aerospace researchers who are assessing the health of human beings while they are in space. You can work directly with NASA's Space Technology Research, Development, Demonstration and Infusion program to develop and apply new technologies that impact the development of commercial spaceflight. The BME PhD program is an interdisciplinary program and students often have advisors in two or more departments. The research topics vary greatly, but have in common the engineering approach to solve biomedical problems. During their study, students will acquire a depth of knowledge in their research area while at the same time learn how to function on multidisciplinary teams.
