UTEP biomedical engineering students learn to identify and address unmet clinical, diagnostic, and health care needs. Through work in labs such as UTEP’s Biomedical Device, Delivery and Diagnostic (B3D) lab, students hone the analytical tools and knowledge of modern engineering and science, understanding of the biological or physiological system, and familiarity with technological advancements. The BME MS offers a broadly based curriculum through BME core courses, some opportunities in advanced coursework, interaction with medical doctors, advanced device design and regulation courses and opportunities in entrepreneurship courses. The BME MS provides a great foundation to work in the biomedical device industry or enhance research skills for further studies in Ph.D. programs.
